Pastor Philip Brooks

Welcome to Mae Edward Community Church! I am so glad you found us! My name is Philip Brooks. I am the appointed pastor to this wonderful church here in Milton, FL. I have worked and volunteered at many churches and this is by far the most loving and welcoming church I have ever been a part of.

I was born in Tampa, Fl where I attended a Christian school from K-4 through 12th grade. During high school, I was a student leader in a youth ministry and played in the worship band at the church. When I graduated, I moved to Orlando to attend the University of Central Florida where I obtained my B.S. in Business Management. The fall after college I married my wife, Alisa. We have been married 18 years now.

Once I finished college, I worked for Walgreens as a manager. It was during this time that I felt God calling me into full-time ministry. In 2011, I started working at First UMC Plant City as the Youth Director. In 2017, I moved to Pensacola to be the Youth Director at St. Luke UMC. In 2022, I started my seminary journey at Asbury Theological Seminary. These last four year learning have been life changing for me! I am set to graduate with a Masters of Divinity in May 2026.

Right now, I don't have much free time as my time is devoted to Mae Edwards Community Church and to school. However, I take a break to watch the Tampa Bay Lighting (Hockey) and the New York Yankees (Baseball). I enjoy leading Bible studies and "wrestling" with the tough questions of faith with people!
